Mission Statement. Special Hockey Northern Virginia exists for the enrichment of the athlete with a developmental disability. In addition to physical hockey skills, the program emphasizes the development of desirable individuals.
The NOVA Cool Cats have passed on numberous bags of donated hockey equipment from all of our donors. The local youth groups have had equipment drives and individuals have donated equipment. It is enough to fill a 8x10 storage shed in Sterling, VA. The Cool Cats donated approxiatemately $15000 worth of equipment to the Baltimore Saints which started up last year. They have over 40 players. The Cool Cats recently took six bags of equipment to the new team in the greater Pittsburgh Area. A team which has been waiting four years to get organized. The Pittsburgh Penguins have a email distribution list and the Icebergs were on the email. Their roster has gone to 30 players.
You can see in the pictures the local youth programs uniforms with the Frederick Fury and Montgomery Blue Devils.
